Then we were having dinner outside in the warm evening when Julia said, "Oh look! There are the fireflies!" We looked and there they were. It was really exciting.
Next morning at breakfast we were looking out the kitchen window and Mary-Ann said, "Oh look! There's a squirrel!" I rushed quietly outside and managed to get the video that is on the blog post "Ian's house". Later on we spotted a Woodpecker breakfasting on the trunk of a tree outside the dining room window.

Here is a video of the squirrels playing on Ian's back lawn!
James pointed out a rough pile of stones on the edge of the wood that backs onto Ian's place and told us that it was a Groundhog's hole. We caught a glimpse of him one evening in the dusk.
Later on, on the edge of the woods at the back Ian pointed out a Bluejay.
At the Fort Montgomerie while walking over the bridge we looked down and there was a Cardinal bird sitting on a wire.
Only once did we ever see some crows,
,... but a couple of times when we went walking round Ian's place we saw these Robins.

Wow! Beautiful photos, Ruary. Nice to see the different types of native flora and fauna, eh?
