We left Ian's place at about 2:45 and drove down over the Tappan Zee bridge
through all the increasing trafficand then the Whitestone Bridge to the John F Kennedy airport.
Doing the online check-in process ended up being a bit of a fiasco as when it got to the end it said, "Ask for assistance", but by the time someone came to have a look it had timed out and gone back to the welcome screen. The assistant brought another passenger over, so we had to wait till she had been fixed up before we could start again. The problem turned out to be whether we had a visa for the UK? It turned out that as we had a return ticket it wasn't an issue. We were able to continue on to Gate 14 and our waiting plane a Boeing 777-300.
We we were due to leave at 6:30pm, but because of a "curfew" at Heathrow on aircraft arriving before 6:00am and weather issues at JFK, we didn't actually take-off till 8:30!
On board I watched Space Odyssey 2001 and a couple of other less memorable movies.
We travelled at 1000kph, at 30000m and it took about 6 hours in a Beoing 777-300.
This is a photo I took through the airport lounge window.

Seems you are still having a great time. Love all the photos. Keep it up

Sad to leave the States, I'll bet! I know we loved everything we saw, anywhere, but when you leave family behind, not knowing when you'll see them all again, it's hard.
