Tuesday 5th August - the Caledonian Canal

After dinner at "The Waterfront" pub down on the banks of the river we went for a walk just passed our B&B, because before dinner we had seen two masts sailing across the street!

We came across the Caledonian Canal and the boat that belonged to the masts!

In one direction it led down to the sea eventually though it was a long way from where we were.

In the other direction there was big swing traffic bridge, behind which were a series of about 5 locks.

At the top, where the canal continued on, there was this huge cruise boat  "The Lord of the Glens"

It all had a lovely peaceful air!

A bit of a hidden treasure!
