Highland Life + a "Heilant Coo" & calf video + other things

Here are a few of the things that we noticed that make the Highlands different:

1. Heilant Coos
This video was taken on the Island of Mull and is about 20 seconds long:

2. Gaelic language - pronounced Gallic so Mary Laidlaw tells me. All the signs up in the Highlands have English and Gaelic.

3. Whisky!

The sign says, "Too much of anything is bad, but too much whisky is barely enough!"
A lot of restaurants provide whisky as an alternative to dessert!

4. Heather:

Heather just starting to bloom!
5. Bracken - it is all over the place!
6. Woods and trees - the roads often plunge into a "green gloom" as you pass in under the trees - Alder and Birch!
7. Stone houses that look great - often built out of red sandstone!
